SIX BASIC RULES TO WHEELCHAIR TAG RUGBY
- As in Rugby League the ball must be passed backwards.
- Tackles are made by removing opponents' tags. Or, if they don't have any tags, by touching their shoulder. Or stopping their forward progress.
- To play the ball is done by touching the floor with the ball and passing to a team mate. If through size or disability you cannot reach the floor you may start by touching the wheel of your chair. The same rule applies to try scoring.
- The restart after a try is scored is by the team who have just conceded tapping the ball on the halfway line, thereby keeping possession.
- If a player falls out of their chair the game is stopped at the next break in play so that they can get back in - for safety reasons.
- The game is started with 5 players per side and is of two forty-minute halves.
